Welcome

Background:

The Worcester County Commission for Women, established in 1995, is a nonpartisan, self-supporting organization that promotes a positive image for women by assisting them in achieving social, education and economic equality. To help achieve its financial independence, The Friends of the Worcester County Commission for Women was established in 1996 to receive and administer funds to finance projects and activities that promote the mission of the Worcester County Commission for Women.

Objectives:

  • To encourage the full participation of women in county activities;
  • to act as an advocate for women of all ages in the home, the workplace, and the community;
  • To direct attention to critical problems and unmet needs of women as wives, mothers, homemakers, and employees;
  • To recommend methods of overcoming discrimination against women;
  • To promote more effective methods for enabling women to develop their skills, continued accomplishments, and contributions to Worcester County;
  • To promote positive image and ensure that all women have opportunities to reach their full potential.

In keeping with our mission to promote positive images for women in Worcester County, the Worcester County Commission for Women and the Friends of the Worcester County Commission for Women hold two events and present awards each year.
